I realize this may not be the most appropriate place to post this, but I wasn't sure where else to ask the questions.
On the register.co.uk is an article talking about Borland to opensource parts of jbuilder to eclipse.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/04/22/jbuilder_eclipse/
any thoughts/rumors/speculations?
Randy
That's as much as anyone knows. Appropriate group is "non-technical".
Follow-ups have been set.

My question is has anyone seen a source for this other than register? I
mean I put about as much stock in their stories as I do in Mac Rumor
site. It is fun read, but really...

The source is some comments Dale made during the quarterly earnings
conference call. I didn't note the exact time that it comes up, but I
think it's probably before 20 minutes into it and it's definitely
sometime after the Q/A begins.

I would argue that the Register is doing a little interpretation of his
meaning but that they aren't totally off the mark.

AFAIK, this is the official answer to this article:

It is more complex than that. During last interview Dale Fuller told
that Borland will enhance Eclipse with missing functionality. I think it
means that some parts will be open source.

Why? Plugins need not to be Open Source.
